Section 2(3)<\/a> of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Ordinance<\/a> (Cap. 297<\/a>) (“RHO”) provides that the payment or recovery of a fixed penalty, or any additional penalty, under the Fixed Penalty (Traffic Contraventions) Ordinance<\/a>(Cap. 237<\/a>), the Fixed Penalty (Criminal Proceedings) Ordinance<\/a> (Cap. 240<\/a>), the Fixed Penalty (Public Cleanliness Offences) Ordinance<\/a> (Cap. 570<\/a>), the Fixed Penalty (Smoking Offences) Ordinance<\/a> (Cap. 600<\/a>) or theMotor Vehicle Idling (Fixed Penalty) Ordinance<\/a> (Cap. 611<\/a>) is not a conviction for the purposes of section 2(1)<\/a> or2(1A)<\/a> of the RHO<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Fixed-penalty notices, for littering or illegal parking, for example, are a fact of contemporary life.
